New Year's Day

STAR PARTY Saturday, January 12 View deep space objects, galaxies, spiral, globular, and nebulosity projected digitally onto a big screen with narration. Show starts after dark, good music, fire and warm food. Bring a chair and extra blankets, dress warm it'll be cold! Good wood donations deeply appreciated, hey it's a desert. Free. Come early to see the gallery, play at the park and eat at the Bistro. Camping and local lodging available. At the Tecopa Hot Springs Resort, 860 Tecopa Hot Springs Road 760 852 4420 for more info. Amargosa Conservancy All-Day Adventures. Call 760.852.4339 for more information. The Conservancy office is located in Shoshone Village on Highway 127. Outings are free, but suggested donations to cover our costs are $20 for a half day and $30-$50 for a full day.

9:30 am

China Ranch Outing. February 16, 9:30 am. Meet at the China Ranch Gift Shop for an inside tour of a working date farm at harvest time. From harvesting through final packaging, you will get a hands-on experience and do it all. Includes free samples and a detailed tour of the farm.


March 22

9:30 am

Tecopa Basin Outing. March 22, 9:30 am. Meet at the Conservancy office in Shoshone for a driving tour of the fascinating human and natural history of this ice age lake basin. Includes about 10 stops, all within easy walking distance of the points of interest.


March 8

8:00 am

Amargosa River Tour. April 12, 8:00 am. Meet at the Conservancy office for a driving tour of the entire Amargosa River basin from Beatty, NV, to Saratoga Springs in Death Valley. Easy walking, 1-2 mile


Adventure with Coyote Woman:

Bring your tools of metaphysics, your ideas and desire for really getting away.  We'll spend the day with a local elder with a vast knowledge of healing with clay, stones, crystals and herbs.  Depending on the weather and the mood, we'll meet at the Resort and carpool up for an excursion into some of our local sacred spots.  High clearance vehicles recommended, bring your own lunch.  Donation suggested but not required.

Geology Field Trip: To benefit both the Shoshone Museum and the Historic Tecopa Hot Springs Resort
